Mission and Programs

Mission

Children of 911 was created to provide financial aid and assistance for the education of children and their families victimized by the September 11th terrorist attack on the United States. Children of 911 was also created with the ambitious goal of providing scholarships to children affected by other tragedies, devastating earthquakes, floods, and fires.

Programs

Children of 911 will specifically support the educational needs of children affected by tragedies such as those experienced on 9/11/01. Part of our outreach strategy is to leave hundreds of thousands of non-intrusive messages on answering machines throughout America asking individuals to support the Children of 911 College Fund. Political, entertainment and sports figures will voice these messages.

Accomplishments for Fiscal Year Ending 09/30/2001

  1. All resources to establish this foundation have been paid for by the partners of "Children of 911 College Fund." "Children of 911 College Fund" has established an alliance with the "Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund" so that one hundred percent of all funds donated to "Children of 911 College Fund" will pass to "The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund" and be administered for the educational support of the children affected by the September 11, 2001 tragedy.
  2. "Children of 911 College Fund" has enlisted numerous radio stations across the country to lend their support by hyperlinking their websites to the Children of 911 site and proudly displaying the Fund's logo. In addition, radio and television stations are providing their personalities to voice messages to help make a difference in the lives of the thousand of children affected by Sept. 11th.
  3. Various radio stations throughout the country have designed contests and/or programs to specifically collect monies for the "Children of 911 College Fund." Whether in the form of a compilation CD to be sold at major retail outlets or encouraging school children to donate their pennies for Patriots, these stations have been a driving force in helping raise money for the "Children of 911 College Fund."
Objectives for Fiscal Year Beginning 10/01/2001
  1. Raise millions of dollars working in conjunction with partners in the electronic media industry.
  2. Expand the "Children of 911 College Fund" to extend beyond the September 11th tragedy and continue to provide scholarships to children affected by other tragedies, such as devastating earthquakes, floods, and fires.
  3. Develop an outreach strategy that includes leaving hundreds of thousands of non-intrusive messages on answering machines throughout America asking individuals to support the "Children of 911 College Fund." It is our goal to have political, entertainment and sports figures voice these messages on behalf of Children of 911.
