The Little Sisters Fund (aka Bahini Fund) is a school scholarship and mentoring program for girls living in extreme poverty. Without Fund support, these girls would likely be forced to disconitnue their educations, and would thus be susceptible to child labor, child marriage, or trafficing (including the international sex industry).

available to the public upon request.

 |
Our mission is to provide hardworking, intelligent and underpriviledged Nepalese and Bhutanese girls the opportunity to remain in school in the face of adverse conditions, such as extreme poverty, deprivation, or social prejudices.
We currently provide education (tuition, uniform and school supplies) and mentoring to over 100 impoverish and marginalized little sisters in Nepal and 21 little sisters in Bhutan.
The Bahini Fund's charitable mission and success in promoting the educational achievment of Nepali young women has been featured in over 40 Nepalese publications, and has been recognized by Save the Children, UNICEF, World Wildlife Fund and other INGOs operating in Kathmandu, Nepal.
- Grew the number of scholarship recipients to 430.
- Vaccinated all little sisters against regional health risks such as typhoid, tetanus, HEP A and HEP B. Held a health outreach program for all Little Sisters.
- Ensure the sustainability of the Fund and the future of the girls by augmenting the endowment.
- Continued to add graduated Little Sisters to the Nepali Board of Directors so that within 5 years, the Fund is run primarily by little sisters.
The Bahini Fund measures its success by the number of girls who remain in the Bahini Fund program each year and meet its high academic performance and social commitment standards.

Notes
The
balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization
at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should
generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot long survive,
but the types of assets and liabilities also must be considered.
For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables,
securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities
(payables, deferred revenue, current year loan and note payments).
Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other
hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed
its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
