Mission and Programs
Mission
As stated in our charter, the primary goals of the Testicular Cancer Resource Center are: 1) Providing information and support to patients, caregivers, family and medical professionals on all subjects related to testicular and extragonadal germ cell tumors, and encouraging and promoting education and medical research in these fields. 2) Providing various forms of assistance to medical doctors and others engaged in medical research related to, but not limited to, the causes, treatments, prevention, and sequella of testicular and extragonadal germ cell tumors and their treatments. 3) Engaging in charitable, educational, and scientific activities and extending financial aid through grants, contributions or other aid or assistance to qualified charitable organizations.
Programs
The Testicular Cancer Resource Center runs a website and multiple email lists, all aimed at helping people to understand and survive testicular cancer.

Accomplishments for Fiscal Year Ending 12/31/2003
- Visited Indiana University and attended three medical conferences. I attended a number of relevant Continuing Medical Education classes and met 25 Testicular Cancer experts for the first time.
- Received more than 300,000 hits on the TCRC home page from more than 135 different countries.
- Continued to assist USC and the NCI in investigations of the genetics of testicular cancer.
Objectives for Fiscal Year Beginning 01/01/2004
- Complete and Roll out new TCRC web site and create new content to cover topics currently missing from the site or only covered using links. Create FAQ lists.
- Continue to attend medical conferences related to germ cell tumors, male health, and medical information on the internet. Establish a stronger relationship between the patient community and the medical experts.
- Promote testicular cancer awareness, and make it easier for others to do the same. Post general information sheets and lecture notes that can easily be used by teachers and survivors to improve testicular cancer awareness.
Chief Executive Profile
Douglas Bank is a testicular cancer survivor and co-founder of the TCRC. He had trouble finding information to help him with his own diagnosis and treatment, and his goal is to ensure that others have a much easier time finding information and proper treatment for their cancer. He has a BS degree from MIT, and an MBA from Northwestern University.
