Mission and Programs
Mission
Mercy Airlift has for over 30 years provided logistical support as well as air and ground transportation of emergency relief supplies to the victims of natural and man made disasters worldwide.
We have accumulated and transported millions of pounds of emergency relief supplies to over 300 events classified as disasters or complex emergencies directly to disaster sites, either with our own aircraft or through other transportation organizations.
Programs
Mercy Airlift in 1968,after establishing itself as a humanitarian aid organization in the U.S. providing food and clothing, as well as assisting the less fortunate in Mexico by building dwellings, stationed aircraft in Ethiopia for more than 18 months, transporting directly to the effected areas of the worst drought to hit that country in decades where thousands of lives were lost. The Government of Ethiopia stated when our mission was completed, that because Mercy Airlift was there, thousand of lives were saved, and people were given the opportunity to rebuild their lives through the efforts of Mercy Airlift and its staff. In 1976 Mercy Airlift delivered thousands of pounds of medical equipment, food, building supplies to Guatemala immediately after their great earthquake that took the lives of 30,000 people, and left hundreds of thousands homeless. Other events both domestic and foreign in which Mercy Airlift was a vital participant in aid relief during disasters and in the rebuilding and recovery stages of humanitarian aid ranged from 1977 through 1998. the areas included Mexico City, the Philippines, Tongo, Zimbabwe, Peru, Nicaragua, Congo, Zaire, Lebanon, and Somalia. Mercy Airlift is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid through warehousing of materials and supplies to meet the different types of disasters; to transporting those supplies and the supplies of other humanitarian organizations directly to the disaster sites.

Balance
Sheet: Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2003
Notes
The
balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization
at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should
generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot long survive,
but the types of assets and liabilities also must be considered.
For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables,
securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities
(payables, deferred revenue, current year loan and note payments).
Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other
hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed
its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
