Mission and Programs
Mission
Gifts In Kind International partners with businesses and nonprofits to provide quality products and services that improve lives in communities around the world.
Programs
Gifts In Kind International operates at less than 1 percent of the fair-market value of products donated, making it one of the most cost-effective nonprofits in the world. Gifts In Kind International designs and manages the donation process for manufacturers and retailers. Computers, software, office equipment and supplies, clothing, personal care products, recreational equipment, educational materials, arts and craft supplies, building materials and many other quality products are distributed globally to those in need by Gifts In Kind International and our 450 Gifts In Kind affiliates worldwide.
Leading manufacturers and retailers, including 44 percent of the Fortune 500 companies, rely on Gifts In Kind International's free services to design and manage their product giving programs.
Based on surveying the needs of the nonprofit sector, Gifts In Kind International assists nonprofits with obtaining technology resources. Gifts In Kind offers registered nonprofits access to significantly discounted computer hardware and software, web site development, computer training, telecommunication and office equipment. Recycled computer technology is also available to registered nonprofits through Gifts In Kind International. In addition to providing nonprofits with access to product donations, Gifts In Kind International matches nonprofits with local retail stores willing to directly donate excess inventory.

Chief Executive Profile
Ricardd Wong became Gifts In Kind International's president and chief executive officer in October 2005.
Most recently, Mr. Wong was the CEO and cofounder of Richmond-based HumaniLink, LLC, a management, technology and fundraising consultancy that leverages advanced communications strategies to improve nonprofits efficiency and accountability. Simultaneously, Mr. Wong founded Strategic Partners Advertising in 1996, an advertising agency that served commercial clients, also based in Richmond.
The son of a humble church minister, Wong emigrated from China to Hong Kong, and later to the U.S., where he received his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Lebanon Valley College, in Annville, Pennsylvania. After twelve years of advertising work on the east coast, Wong was hired by one of his clients, the Christian Childrens Fund in Richmond. As Deputy Director of Development, he was instrumental in raising $500 million and assisted the organization in raising the first $20 million of a $40 million fundraising campaign for an international childrens hospital in Latin America during his five-year tenure.
Mr. Wong found tremendous personal fulfillment in working for nonprofit organizations. Over the course of the last fifteen years, he has helped nonprofit organizations, large or small around the world, realize their vision and reinvent their mission. He applied the business and marketing discipline from the for-profit world to assist nonprofit in board development, design efficient organization infrastructure, achieve financial accountability, and helped raised over $600 million in contributions. His program emphasis has been for children and youth, women empowerment, and affordable medicine in the developing countries.

Balance
Sheet: Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2007
Notes
The
balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization
at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should
generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot long survive,
but the types of assets and liabilities also must be considered.
For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables,
securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities
(payables, deferred revenue, current year loan and note payments).
Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other
hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed
its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
