Mission and Programs
Mission
K.I.D.S., Inc. encourages and facilitates donations of new apparel, shoes, toys, juvenile products and other items that benefit children who are ill, living in poverty or are the victims of natural disasters. K.I.D.S. partners with recipient agencies across the country who distribute the donations to children in need.
Programs
K.I.D.S. brings hope and self-esteem to more than 4.5 million children and their families each year by providing new clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, books and juvenile products donated by manufacturers and retailers. The donations are distributed through a network of nearly 1,000 local community social service agencies in the U.S. and abroad. Our efforts reach children who are challenged by poverty, homelessness, domestic abuse, low literacy, military family service, major illness, incarcerated family members and disaster survival. More information about donating new products and supporting our work is available online at http://www.KIDSdonations.org
Have secured $6 million in new products from about 65 companies specifically for the Haiti earthquake relief.

Objectives for Fiscal Year Beginning 01/01/2005
- K.I.D.S. strives to be a main responder to disaster situations for children in the United States and all over the world in terms of providing needed clothing, shoes, toys, and juvenile product.
- K.I.D.S. seeks to be able to impact more than 30 percent of the nation's poor and disadvantaged children and youth.
- K.I.D.S. strives to become a national priority in addition to an industry charity. The main business of K.I.D.S. is to help members donate new product to children in need. We have regular programs throughout the year serving children in need in the U.S., as well as being fast responders to disaster situations. It is during the spring and summer months that we work the hardest to secure merchandise for children in need and to prepare for the rush from agencies looking for back to school and holiday toys and clothes for their children and youth. We also are extremely active during any disaster situations here in the U.S. or abroad.
Self Assessment
K.I.D.S. works hard assure our funders and agency partners that we do everything we can to assess our work and constanly improve our effectiveness. In addition to monitoring the progress of distributions, we also provide activity reports to our foundation supporters verifying the amounts and kinds of product provided.

Balance
Sheet: Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2007
Notes
The
balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization
at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should
generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot long survive,
but the types of assets and liabilities also must be considered.
For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables,
securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities
(payables, deferred revenue, current year loan and note payments).
Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other
hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed
its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
