Who We Are
Canavan Research Illinois was born out of desperation to save all the Canavan children. Canavan is a rare fatal childhood neurological disease. We are a 100% volunteer public charity, so virtually every penny donated goes directly to support life saving research. We are presently co-funding a promising gene therapy trial and additional therapeutic medical research to save the children now battling Canavan disease. Because Canavan is a rare disease, we receive essentially no public funding and rely solely on private donations and grants.
